Parade Safety Rules: Having a safe and enjoyable parade is our primary concern and we appreciate your cooperation with the parade rules. Starting in 2011, no throwing of candy or other objects from the parade vehicle will be allowed. Walkers may hand out the candy or items along the parade route. Candy throwing has presented a safety hazard and hindered the steady procession of floats. Please encourage all spectators to remain out of the street to safely accept candy and giveaways.

Parade Entries:  The Ankeny SummerFest Grand Parade is one of the largest events in the community because of the variety of the entries and the time you put into making your entry great. Due to the overwhelming response to our parade, NON-DECORATED entries may be limited. You are encouraged to decorate your entry in accordance with the parade theme.  DECORATED entries will receive priority in the parade release order.  Because of the appeal to the parade for families of all ages all entries must be FAMILY FRIENDLY and APPROPRIATE for ALL ages at all times.

Starting at SW School St in front of Ankeny Schools Administration Building
There are 5 categories: Costumes Age 0-6, Costumes Age 7 -12, Floats, Rollerblades, and Bikes

Located at School Street in front of Neveln Resource Center.
